Could you be the next Steven Moffat (Sherlock) or J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter)? Do you long to create a mystery and write riddles that intrigue your reader? Come along to write your own mystery story and see how we can help...
This unique 2 day workshop centres on bringing story writing tips and activities into your orbit, to help you knuckle down and start writing your own mystery story. Even if you have never spent a moment thinking about mystery writing, you will love it! This interactive group workshop will contain:
- different mystery story planning techniques
- reference to well known mystery stories in books and film
- finding story ideas from a range of sources
- developing a mystery storyline
- working on character and settings to suit mystery story purpose
- considering the best way to tell this story
- writing with suspense in mind
- focused and free story writing time
- one to one support from Catherine Burwell
- detailing tips and exercises
- editing and improving impact in your work
- group and pair work
- a little bit of outdoor work

Thursday 29th October and Friday 30th October. For Year 7 – Year 10's.
Times: 10am -
Price: £75.00 for the 2 day course.
What the course includes: All programme resources for exercises and activities, biscuits & snacks for morning and afternoon break.
What you will need to bring: A notebook/exercise book and a pen and pencil; a packed lunch; a bottle of water each day and footwear and coat suitable for a little outdoor work eg. on the grass; your mobile phone (if you have one).
